Social Responsibility LD
The Social Responsibility Subcommittee Chair, or his/her designee will be responsible for ensuring that all conference activities adhere to practices that ensure the least impact on the natural and human environment. The Committee will also help to stimulate an environment that is culturally and socially sensitive. The Committee will develop “Social Responsibility Guidelines” early in the planning process and work with subcommittee chairs to assist in socially responsible conference implementation. The Committee will work in two general areas:
- Environmental concerns, i.e., minimizing the environmental impacts of the conference and encouraging the use of sustainable food, beverages, and other products
- Societal considerations (cultural awareness, people with diabilities, food preferences, or other special services).
